What You Should Know About Water Damage and Mold in Your Home
If you have a sustained an untreated water damage issue, it will most likely become a mold and mildew problem as well. This is simply because mold growth indoors is usually linked to a moist, damp environment. Anderson water damage and mold in your home can occur as a result of:
- Inadequate drying and de-humidification of the air, floors, and walls in your home
- Flooding, leaky roofs, poor building upkeep, and indoor pipes issues
- Basement water damage, drainage and ventilation problems
A single occurrence of flood damage can cause mold and mildew to grow inside the walls and foundation and building structure. A period of high humidity can result in a sudden and widespread mold problem. Under the right “nurturing” conditions, mold and mildew can become a problem overnight!
At Indiana Restoration and Cleaning Services, we treat water damage and mold in two phases:
- We first treat the fundamental issue – any excessive moisture and existing water damage to prevent additional mold and mildew growth.
- The following step includes complete mold mitigation and mold remediation process, where we eliminate the mold and fungal growth, as well as all contaminated materials. This is done through an intensive process that includes contaminating removal, cleaning deodorization, structural drying, dust/hvac cleaning, contents restoration and structural repair and restoration.
Sewage Damage Cleanup and Removal
There are serious health dangers associated with sewage damage because it contains high amounts of destructive microscopic organisms. Because of this, we provide you with sewage cleanup and sewage removal to keep you and you and your friends and family safe. It is important that you do not attempt to clean up a mess from broken pipes that are associated with a sewage line. Sewage, which is also called black water, has the potential to cause extraordinary damage. Interacting with fecal matter or raw sewage could cause disease, destroy your belongings, and cause serious damage to your property. Only trained professionals prepared with the right equipment should handle sewage removal.
Mold Damage Cleanup and Remediation Services
Indiana Restoration offers multiple services for mold removal in Anderson such as:
Contaminate Removal – For effective mold remediation to take place, the source of contamination needs to be removed, otherwise the mold will simply return.
Cleaning Deoderization – Proper remediation of contaminated structures relies heavily on proper cleaning techniques and tools, as well as the responsible use of antimicrobial chemicals.
Structural Drying – The presence of mold contamination is typically due to excessive moisture or humidity. Indiana Restoration will thoroughly dry the damaged structure and eliminate the moisture that caused the mold and indoor air quality issues.
Dust/Hvac Cleaning – In some cases, mold can get into the duct work and ventilation systems. In these cases, proper remediation also involves the cleaning of the heating and ventilation system to ensure that breathable air is free of contaminants and microbial organisms.
Contents Restoration – When people think of mold they think of walls, basements, and bathrooms. However, mold can contaminate your possessions just as easily. Given the right humidity or moisture conditions, mold spores will feed on any organic materials including upholstery, drapes, books and even clothes.
Structural Repair and Rebuild – In some cases, mold contamination in the home can cause significant structural damage to drywall, floors and even mechanical systems in the home. We have the experience and knowledge in working with your insurance company to ensure your investment is restored with top quality materials and craftsmanship.
Depending on the degree of mold contamination, Indiana Restoration and Cleaning Services strongly recommends the use of indoor air quality professionals to assess and test environments for excessive or certain types of mold. This is the safest way to protect the property and the inhabitants. In some instances, the added expertise of an Indoor Air Quality Hygienist may be required to ensure that your home has been successfully remediated.
