What You Should Know About Water Damage and Mold in Your Home
In the event that you have sustained an untreated water damage problem, it’s likely to also develop into a mold and mildew problem as well. This is simply because mold growth indoors is usually linked to a moist, damp environment. Water damage and mold in your home can occur as a result of:
- Insufficient drying and de-humidification of the air, floors and walls in your house
- Flooding, leaky roofs, poor building maintenance and indoor plumbing problems
- Basement water damage, drainage and ventilation problems
A single episode of flood damage can cause mold and mildew to grow inside the walls and underlying foundation and building structure. A period of high humidity can result in a sudden and widespread mold problem. Under the right “nurturing” conditions, mold and mildew can become a problem overnight!
At Indiana Restoration and Cleaning Services, we treat water damage and mold in two stages:
- We first treat the underlying problem – any excessive moisture and existing water damage to prevent further mold and mildew growth.
- The next step involves a comprehensive mold mitigation and mold remediation process, where we eliminate the mold and fungal growth, as well as all contaminated materials. This is done through an intensive process that includes contaminate removal, cleaning deodorization, structural drying, dust/hvac cleaning, contents restoration and structural repair and restoration.
Sewage Damage Cleanup and Removal
There are serious health dangers associated with sewage damage because it contains high amounts of destructive microscopic organisms. Because of this, we provide you with sewage cleanup and sewage removal to keep you and your loved ones safe. It is critical that you do not attempt to clean up a mess from broken pipes that are connected to a sewage line.Sewage, which is also called black water, has the potential to cause extraordinary damage. Interacting with fecal matter or raw sewage could cause disease, destroy your belongings, and cause serious damage to your property. Only trained professionals prepared with the right equipment should handle sewage removal.

More About Hamilton County IN
In June 2008, Hamilton County was named America’s Best Place to Raise a Family by Forbes.com due to its strong economy, affordable living, top-ranked schools, and close proximity to Indianapolis. The land containing Hamilton County was brought into the possession of the United States by the Treaty of St. Mary’s in 1818. William Conner was the first white settler in the county. In the summer of 1822, after realizing there were enough settlers in the area, Conner and other settlers applied to the Indiana Legislature for a charter authorizing them to become a separate and independent county under Indiana law. The application was presented to the Legislature at the 1822-23 session and the act was passed and approved by the governor on January 8, 1823. The act took effect on the first Monday in April (April 7), 1823. The County Commissioners first met on May 5, 1823, at the house of William Conner. Conner’s house would also serve as the County Circuit Court. The county was named after Alexander Hamilton, the first secretary of the treasury.
